The John Good Group is pleased to announce that it finished as runner-up in the Family Business of the Year Transport & Logistics Sector awards on the 11th June.
The awards ceremony celebrates the UK’s leading family run businesses and is divided by region and sector. The Group received nominations for both the Yorkshire and Transport & Logistics Family Business of the Year and came a close second in their respective sector.
This is another accolade for the John Good Group having recently been listed as one of Yorkshire’s fastest growing companies – the Ward Hadaway Yorkshire’s Fastest 50 sponsored by the Yorkshire Post – finishing a respectable 7th overall.
Managing Director, Alan Platt, said: “We are delighted that our business has been recognised as one of the top family businesses in the transport and logistics sector.
“Having been in business for close to two centuries it’s great that we have stayed true to our roots and remained family owned. Our sector is very competitive and many have moved on to outside investment, whilst our business has remained in the hands of the Good family for six generations.
“We are delighted, although slightly disappointed, to have finished in second position for such an award that places great emphasis on family involvement.
“We’d like to congratulate our fellow Hull resident, JR Rix and Sons, on being awarded the overall joint winner which reinforces how the region remains at the forefront of the transport and logistics sector.”
