As one of the UK’s largest and most experienced independent shipping, logistics, warehousing and corporate travel companies, the John Good Group has made a number of senior management appointments as it gears up for its next stage of growth.

Changes within the senior management team include Seamus Jennings taking up the role of joint Managing Director at John Good Logistics. Seamus currently holds the position of Sales Director at John Good Logistics, as well as being a Director of the main board of the John Good Group, and has been with the company for 25 years.

Alan Steadman has been appointed as Director of John Good Logistics. Alan has been with the company for 18 years and has been a driving force in the development of its freight forwarding activities in Manchester, as well as developing the company’s Turkish trade.

In the south of England, changes have been made to senior management in both Felixstowe and Tilbury. Rachel Davies has been appointed Office Manager at John Good Logistics, in Felixstowe, and has been instrumental in the development of the company’s activities at this branch for many years.

Likewise, David Churchyard has been appointed Office Manager at John Good Logistics, in Tilbury, having previously worked at the Brentwood office. David will continue to develop the company’s activities at Tilbury and also at London Gateway.

On the warehousing side of the business, Paul Fordon has been appointed as Director of Felixstowe Warehousing in addition to his current role as Managing Director of Trans European Port Services (TEPS), Hull. Paul will work closely with current Managing Director Stuart Gosling in developing the Group’s wider warehousing activities in the south to achieve the company’s ambitious growth targets.

Group Marketing Manager, Adam Ward, started his new role in April and is responsible for developing the marketing strategy for all of the Group’s businesses from the head office, based in Hull.

With more than six years’ experience in the sales and marketing industry, Adam has built up knowledge of the media, online retail and engineering industries, specialising in both the digital and traditional channels of marketing with a particular emphasis on e-marketing, social media, SEO, PR campaigns and integratedCRM systems.

Adam’s appointment marks a new era at the John Good Group, as it is the first time since the company was founded in 1833 that it has established a dedicated marketing function.

Alan Platt, Managing Director at John Good Group, said:

“We are delighted that Adam is bringing his marketing expertise, skills and knowledge to help us drive our business strategy and achieve our objectives across all of the John Good Group subsidiaries.

“His new role will utilise the full marketing mix and, in line with the other appointments, help us reach our ambitious growth targets by 2022.”
